Lots of goodies today.

Ok so I know I've been promising a recipe for awhile now, so today you get one. I am not a baker, I especially don't bake from scratch and barely bake from a box. So keep that in mind for this recipe. I decided to give you a recipe I knew would work because evidently mine is missing a few ingredients like the cookie dough part. I'm sure, but it seems to me that if you're gonna make cookies, you'll be needing that mix. I believe I had the mix at one point and my recipe card says to mix the cookie mix with the ingredients, so I must have attached it somehow. STOP LAUGHING!!! Cuz i gots one HELL of a recipe for Eggplant Parmesan that you would KILL for. Be nice or I won't share my super secret recipe when I get around to it.

Orange Dream-sickle Cookies

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 firmly packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons orange zest (for me that was the zest of 2 oranges)
2 cups Guitard Choc-Au-Lait Vanilla Chips (I used Ghirardelli white chips)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth. Gradually add flour mixture until combined. Stir in orange zest and chips.

Orange Dream sickle Cookies
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Do not flatten cookies; it will make them dry. Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until golden brown around edges. Do not overcook! Cookies will be plump. Cool for several minutes on cookie sheets before transferring to rack to cool completely. Store in airtight container.

Ok so there is a new recipe for you to try out. Let me know how they taste my little guinea pigs!

So I got me a new Disco Ball, I don't remember if I told you or not,but it is about 8 inches around 2 lights that sparkle when it rotates. Awesome then. So when I Disco dance when I wake up, I have the Disco ball to get me in the mood. Yes I did bedazzle my own jumpsuit. I have a feather boa too. Thinking about those platform boots from Mamma Mia. I be a stylin'. You know it, don't be hatin'

Making progress in the craft room. I think I have someone who might want some of the 'found' art stuff. At least take some maps and travel related stuff off my hands. That will be nice. So while I whittle it down, I have the closet done, one corner, one whole wall that has all the stuff I'm gonna sell, and now working on the desk and table. One those are done, one drawer full of scrapbooking stuff, or I call the nightmare drawer. For some of that I may just have a yard sale. Lots of stickers and pens and that sort of thing. Stamps are a nightmare already. I knew I had a couple thousand, but i think I have way more. So how about a craft tip as well as a recipe?

No I will not be sharing a poem today although if you want to check out the one I had published you can find it here. http://www.thepixelproject.net/--blog The name of the poem is "How to Gain a Life"

Ok Craft tip of the day. Sponges.Yep, sponges. Different types, textures, etc. Use them to put a nice background on your paper. just dab on the color pad, then  dab on your paper. you will be amazed at the backgrounds you can create. Again, use different textures. Sea sponges, makeup sponges, cleaning sponges whatever you can find is awesome. Use different colors for different textures on your paper. then do whatever you were gonna to begin with. Gives your paper a little oomph. So today learn to play with colors and textures, next I'll tell you how to use stickers that are not flat and 2 dimensional. Hope that stirs up those creative juices.

Hmmm, let's see. Oh yes, I went to see Harry Potter, the last(?) one. We'll see. I'm not gonna tell you the story. But let's suffice it to say that Rick Riordan successfully did 5 Percy Jackson & the Olympians books. He then went on to create a new series. I'm not saying that J.K. Rowling hasn't earned enough money or fame or time off. I'm just saying that when you write, you can't just stop. You can take a break for a few years, but you will always return to writing. The things in your head need to get out and on paper. It is something you must do. Like designing, you can't stop. If you do, you will do it in your head and then you'll have to write it down to release it from your head. Writing is the same thing. it must be released. It doesn't have to be good. It just needs to leave.

With that my friends I wish you a fond good night. Till next time... #peaceout
