Well had a great time from the engagement party on Thursday, beautifully hosted by Bridjette. Bridjette owned the travel agency I worked for when I first came to Alaska. Lisa, the bride was the manager. We all still keep in touch after 20 years of knowing each other and get together 2-3 times per year. I normally don't make those meetings because I was always working, but so good to see them all again. Been a minute or two.
For the party, Don, Bridjette's husband made the most succulent, fabulous fresh King Salmon. It was orgasmic. Bridjette made a fabulous veggie lasagna. She also had a feast for the group. We all took home Godiva chocolates. I love me some Bridjette. She is a cancer survivor so especially wonderful I was able to see her.
Susan, another woman I worked with at the agency, in fact whose place I took as she has been on maternity leave for 18 years. Yea, just the one child. LOL a huge joke for us. But so happy she got to raise her child and not worry about it. She is also a cancer survivor and again, wonderful to catch up.
This group has always been fun, motivational and just good people. I was blessed for a couple of days with them.
Fun fact for my many friends that watch the Colbert Report. Her son in law, Mike, writes for Stephen. Interesting. I love the show as you know. She has very successful wonderful children and it was a pleasure to hear about it after so many years.
The wedding was wonderful. Lisa married her fiance, Tom. Her song to walk the aisle for her ceremony, Mr Rogers Neighborhood. She married a Mr Rogers. They will live in Tennessee. I will miss her. She taught me a lot and has such integrity, I can only aspire to. So very happy for her. This is her 1st marriage. They met on eHarmony.com I kknoowwww..... Awesome. Tom seems nice and knwo we will kill him if he hurts our Lisa.

Lunch was served prior to ceremony which was wonderful. It was a fabulous potluck and that way nobody was starving during ceremony, we could concentrate on the vows. I wrote them a personal wedding poem that I hope they liked and lyrics to a song that is perfect for them.
So it was a good weekend. Saw old friends, watched a marriage take place and had a great time.
