Wednesday Night Rant

Hi all,

You know some people take all the fun out of being nice. I am always shocked at how rude people can be. I hear all the time that I am, but I am more of a ~ let me tell you what I need, you get it for me, I pay you for it and done ~quick an efficient. I guarantee you nobody cares about my day altho they will ask about it, they don't care about anything I have to say. All they want is for you to tell them what you  need, let them get it for you, pay them and adios. So I hear that I am rude because I don't care to engage in small talk. Because I am blunt and don't ever ask me something you don't want the answer to. So if that counts as rude, ok.

What I'm talking about is people that fail to share basic manners. No thank you for a special thing you may have done, no saying anything nicely to you, even if you reach out. My fellow blogger, had a post similar to this. I am a nice, thoughtful person. Often I can be blunt, evidently misconstrued as rude. Not meant that way, but people want everything sugar coated. I am simply saying, you reach out to a friend, do everything and that friend may or may not even show up.

Am I alone in this? No, I see people yelling at sales clerks when the clerk has no control over the situation. If somebody is abusive in manner to someone trying to help them, then the clerk has a right to say, "stop please, or come back when you are less volatile as this is something I have no control over.  I'm not referring to the clerks that just don't want to be helpful, but if the computer breaks, don't yell at them they had nothing to do with that. I'm seeing this happen more and more. I think it is a shame and a really not good way to get what you want. I would give them a time out. Take an extra 5 minutes to "goof up" if need be. Not that I ever have, but I think it would be fair.
